starting work on full version alpha!


Hi! If you were interested in the my Ludum Dare 53 Compo submission post, I am making a follow-up post just to show a little bit of what I've done so far on the full version of "demaker.s game"! I managed to implement a pseudo-terminal UI with clickable input, but right now it's not fully implemented as a menu. I am blocking out the UI and gameplay loop at the current moment. I also managed to implement much faster console swapping than before.

I'm thinking of adding customizable features and mapping custom inputs to the consoles themselves, so that you can slot in generic subsystems into some of the consoles, while each has their own unique subsystems, but that'll have to be decided during playtesting. I also will probably be redoing the whole game loop, with either committing to a procedural rogue-like dungeon vs a linear (metroidvania structured) level-based campaign.
